Picked up one of my Girlfriends magazines for a little reference practice the other day. I have no idea who these people are, so your guess is as good as mine.

New Website

So I've finally decided to stop being so crap with my online stuff, and since I haven't used thus blog in so long it is now connected to my new website at marcnobleillustraton.com. I'll be using it to mostly post random sketches, thoughts and ideas. I also have my new comic 'Wires' up on the site as well so give it a read and like on facebook and all that.

The Egg Crushers Children: Chapter 1

so, this one has been a long time coming, but it's finally done. The first 24 pages of 'The Egg Crushers Children', a colaberation between myself and Edinburgh based writer Chris McCance. The story follows a young boy who is a soldier in the Father's Liberation Army, known lonly by his role 'Messanger'. As you can tell, I'm no writer, but you can check out Chris's more in depth and slightly more gripping description on The Egg Crushers Children Facebook page

Since we have a Facebook page, I'm not going to throw all the pages up here, but here's a little taste and a few of my favorite pages from this first chapter.

This has been a particularly fun project so far, giving me the oppertunity to really push myself to do the script justice and bring the characters and the whole world to life, and I'm lucking forward to working in some of the fantasy elements a little later in the story.

So, if you like what you see, head over to the facebook page for the whole comic, and hopefully there should be more soon. (not too soon, We're currently working on a short side project 'Wires', so this will be on hold for a month or two while I get that done.)

5, 6, 7, 8!

I've just finished this movie poster for a short film created by the Edinburgh based 'Debasers Filums' for there upcoming work entitled 5, 6, 7, 8! It was a pretty fun project to work on, since it gave me something a little different to do and was interesting to work a 50's dance theme into the poster. The film is going to be crowdfunded, meaning the poster and other materials will be given out to people who donate funding to the production, I'll post the details and links on that when I have them.

Now in magical colour

I've recently been trying to improve my digital colouring skills to try and reach a level i'm happy with, I don't think i'm quite there yet, the schemes still seem to end up a bit stronger / darker than what i intend, but anyways, this is my latest attempt, the colour version of 'Willard':

And for desert, a character i've been working on for the egg crusher comic, an immortal soldier who has a pack of huge bear creatures under his control, can't wait to get to thatt part of the story...

Egg Crusher 4, 5 and 6

Here's a wee look at the next few pages for the Egg Crushers children comic. Again, no text until it becomes a real webcomic, this here's just a little taster.

3, 2, 1, Let's Jam

The first three pages of the comic 'The Egg Crushers Children', which i'm illustrating (very slowly, thank you full time employment) for the edinburgh based writer Chris McCance. I think once there's enough pages this will be getting it's own site as a webcomic so i won't be posting anything with text on here, don't want to give the story away, but there will be a link to the site once it's up and running.

Willard

Saw this film the other day, it's about a guy who befriends the rats in his basement and then uses them to take revenge on the people making his life misserable. The movie has some real nice imagery, especially when a lift full to the brim with rats opens, and they all fall away to reveal willard stood in the middle, this is sort of my take on that little scene.

The Egg Crushers Children, first page inks

This is the first page of a comic i'm working on with the writer Chris McCance here in edinburgh. I'm not sure how far i'll be going with this in terms of colour/ grey scale shading etc since it's a pretty big story and at the minute i'm just working on a six page sample and a few other designs, but i thought i'd upload this anyways since my page has been looking a bit neglected of late

The Egg Crushers Children: Character sketches

Thought I'd post a couple of sketches for a comic book i've been working on with writer Chris McCance for the past couple of months, been working too much to have done as much as i'd have liked to, but it's finally starting to take shape.
I did a few of these on a3 and i only have an a4 scanner, incase you were wondering about the joins down the middle.

aaaaand just one more...

One of my favourite posts so far, it wouldn't fit on the last post.

More Sky Fish (again)

So i've kind of been working on this on and off for nearly a year i think now, which i've decided is far too long. Which is why I've decided to make one last push to get it finished. I only have about ten pages left to colour, but I'm sending what I do have to publishers in the next coulple days.
